Event Record overview
Event-based traceability means that every item’s journey through a supply chain is marked by certain events, at which point key data elements are collected. Viewing an Event Record for any item in Wholechain gives you an in-depth look at what occurred at the most recent event, as well as links you to all the events that preceded that one in the product’s journey through the Supply Chain Diagram.
Access any Event Record by clicking on the hyperlink in the Primary ID or Action column of any item in any of your products’ Current Inventory tabs. You can also access Event Records via the items listed in your Shipping/Receiving page.
Here is an overview of the key components that comprise an Event Record:
- You’ll see the three tabs near the top of the page:
- Diagram: The Supply Chain Diagram will display your supply chain as a series of nodes, each of which reflects an event previously logged in Wholechain. All of the events will be labeled with the event type, as well as the location and date on which the event occurred. You can double click on any of the nodes to see that Event Record’s details displayed in a drawer on the right.
- Map: This is simply a graphical depiction of the Supply Chain Diagram, where the nodes are located at map waypoints. Clicking on any of these waypoints will display a list of the events that were logged at that location, and double clicking on each of the events that appears on a waypoint will display the Event Record’s details in a drawer on the right.
- Documents: This will show all Documents you have linked to this event, and allow you to view the document(s).
- To the right of the tabs above, you'll be able to view an Event Summary of your most recent event with that product. By clicking Event Details in the right corner, you can view the below information:
- Event Details: This tab will provide a similar summary to the previously mentioned Event Summary. It will include data elements captured (including custom data), as well the blockchain and hash associated with the event.
- Event Data: This tab will provide a HTML formatted summary of your current event data with the selected lot/pallet.
-
EPCIS: This tab provides the event details in EPCIS format, which is a GS1 standard for supply chain traceability.
- Lastly, will be able to download the Event record’s data by clicking on Actions > Download CSV
