Receive products from a non-Wholechain User

We understand not all of the companies in your Network are Wholechain users. If you want to log events of a supply chain that originates with Non-Wholechain users, you can start with a Receive event, representing when the product first comes into your custody.

Navigate to the Shipping & Receiving page on the left-side menu

Click Actions > Receive

In the right-side drawer that appears, select the company in your Network (non-Wholechain user) from whom you're receiving the product

Select the  Product that is being received

Select the Receipt Location where the product is being received

Select whether you would like to use a Custom Data Template. Learn more about adding Custom Data to events here

If entering manually, type in the Lot ID number, Quantity (lbs), and the Date Received. If entering data via CSV, download the CSV and upload the data (following the same steps as Commission via CSV Upload)

Click Log Event

You will be asked to confirm the blockchain event and the items’ quantities and units of measure, after which you can click Confirm. Now the items you’ve just received will appear in the Current Inventory tab of the selected product.

 

Note: Since this is the first traced instance of the inventory in Wholechain, there will be no previous traceability events visible in the supply chain diagram. This event serves as the origin point for this traced supply chain in Wholechain until any further upstream Companies in your Network join the platform.
