Receive products from a company in your Network

Receive is an event in Wholechain that indicates a confirmation that a Ship record matches the physical product received. You can also start logging a supply chain with a Receive event if the shipper is not yet on Wholechain (learn how here). The recipient also has the option to reject the record, which will notify the sender that the record requires a change before being confirmed to the blockchain.

1
Navigate to the Shipping & Receiving page on the left-side menu
2
In the Pending tab you will see the items shipped from companies in your Network that are awaiting your confirmation
3
View any of the Ship event details by clicking on an item. Here you can review the Ship event's KDE’s (key data elements) to ensure their accuracy before receiving
4
There are two ways to receive the ship record: either by clicking Confirm within the Ship record view, or from the main Pending tab, where you can simply select the product (or multiple at once) and click Actions > Receive
5
You'll be prompted to assign the item(s) to an existing product set up in your Wholechain account, as well as assign a location to which it will be confirmed, as well as the receipt date
6
Select whether you would like to use a Custom Data Template. Learn more about adding Custom Data to events here
7
Click Log Event
8
You will be asked to confirm the blockchain event and the items’ quantities and units of measure. This is to account for any changes to unit of measure that may have occurred between trading partners (i.e. kgs to lbs)
9
Click Confirm. Received items will automatically appear in the assigned product’s Current Inventory tab, ready for further traceability events

Note

  • You may reject a shipping event if any information is not accurate. To learn more about rejecting a Ship event record, click here
  • You can only receive items of the same product at one time. For example, if someone shipped you one lot of salmon and one lot of cod, you'll have to receive them in two separate actions.
